Tu Decides THE NEW STEELO, Steelo Covers Jay Z Concert, October 21, 2009

On Saturday October 17th one of Music's brightest stars paid a visit to Seattle, WA. Shawn Carter known to the world as Jay-Z, performed to a sold out crowd at Key Arena as part of his Fall Tour. The night was unlike any other as so much anticipation had consumed fans months before. It had been ten years since Jay-Z last performed here, so there was no question that this night was going to be special. From the minute he rose from the depths in center stage, the roars from the crowd made it apparent that this would be one of the greatest nights in Hip-Hop history for the Emerald City. Backed by a full band that Jay-Z calls "The Roc Boys," the Brooklyn native took the audience on a musical journey performing hits from his recent album "Blue Print 3" and past favorites.

There was a unique energy that filled the arena as fans recited every word to every song while standing on their feet throughout his entire performance. Very few artists today can command an audience in this manner with such poise and confidence as Jay-Z does.

Throughout the show he would speak to the crowd in a way that each person felt he was having a conversation with them. At one point he said "I'm here with you tonight in Seattle because I never let anyone block my dreams, I couldn't get a record deal, but I didn't let that stop me." Whether you know Jay-Z the artist and/or businessman, you can be sure that his passion for everything he does is authentic and genuine. He's a true example of someone that makes it a point to have his steelo be his passion.

In true high class fashion Jay-Z closed the show thanking each individual for their purchase and letting the audience know he appreciated their support as he and the band appropriately closed with "Young Forever" from his latest release. The arena, illuminated by the light from lighters and cell phones, looked like a place in outer space, for at least this night Jay-Z had taken the 17,000+ to a place they hadn't been before and would never want to leave, musically.
