RIP BIG PUN - 11/10/1971 - 2/7/2000

Big Pun

February 7th marks the anniversary of Big Pun's untimely death, but rather than dwell on his passing, we celebrate what he was able to accomplish as an artist. Big Pun was the First solo Latino rapper to go Platinum! His debut album "Capital Punishment" released in April of 1998 peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for a Grammy. His debut single "I'm Not a Player" peaked at #3 on the U.S. rap charts in 1997 (Wikipedia.com). His delivery and word play are unlike any other before or after him. "Still Not a Player" featuring Joe is still one of the dopest records created! Big Pun's music had a big influence on me and his accomplishments within the industry have been motivating. RIP Christopher Rios aka Big Pun!
